As Republican Party members gather in Cleveland this week to officially nominate Donald Trump as their candidate for the presidency, the Clinton campaign has updated an ad from 1964 called “Confessions of a Republican.”
The original ad was released by the Johnson campaign in an attempt to paint Barry Goldwater as an extremist. This revised ad, which features the same actor from that original ad, Bill Bogert, is being used as a warning against Trump’s candidacy.
“I’ve thought about not voting. But you can’t do that. That’s saying you don’t care who wins and I do care,” Bogert said. “I think the party is about to make a terrible mistake in Cleveland, and I’m going to have to vote against that mistake on the eighth of November.”
